FAFSA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a form required by every college and university to assess a family’s income to determine financial need. FAFSA is first completed between October 1 and June 30 of a student’s high school graduating year, then once every year while the student is attending college. The sooner FAFSA is completed, the more financial aid is available.
Many local colleges, including the Community College of Aurora, offer FAFSA filing assistance in English and Spanish. CCA's sessions are held the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 5:30-7:00 pm at the Student Center Building (Room S204) on the CentreTech campus. Please contact their Financial Aid Office with any questions.
The Office of Federal Student Aid has put together several short, helpful videos that explain the process:

Types of federal student aid
What happens after you file

How to manage your federal student loans
More information is also available through their website at StudentAid.ed.gov.
The official FAFSA website is: www.FAFSA.gov. There are many fraudulent websites out there, so just remember, you should NEVER pay to file your FAFSA (the first letter stands for "Free")!
